Perú is located in the western side of South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile and in the west by the Pacific Ocean.
Lima is the capital city of Peru and is situated in the central coastal region of the country. Lima sits at an altitude of 528 feet (161 meters) above sea level, providing a scenic view of the Pacific Ocean. With a population of about eleven million people within its Metropolitan area, Lima is the fifth largest city in South America.
Miraflores is the most touristic district of Lima, offering a wide range of hotels and restaurants. San Isidro is the district with the highest concentration of offices and business buildings. Miraflores and San Isidro are approximately 30 to 40 minutes by taxi from the Jorge Chávez International Airport.
In contrast, the historic center of Lima is a popular area for visitors, best experienced during the day due to its rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere.

Climate
Lima’s climate is a combination of an almost total absence of rain with high levels of atmospheric humidity and permanent cloud cover. Summer (December to March) is humid and warm, while winter months (June to September) are cloudy and mild. During the conference, temperatures fluctuate between 18° and 27°C (65 and 80°F). For daytime, it is recommended to stay hydrated and wear light clothes.

When traveling to the highlands, it is important to rest on the first day to help prevent altitude sickness, consume light meals, stay hydrated, and carry lemon candies for relief. For trips to the jungle, it is recommended to use insect repellent and receive a yellow fever vaccination at least 10 days prior to departure.
To avoid gastrointestinal infections, travelers should steer clear of raw foods, drink only bottled or boiled water, and refrain from consuming street food. Fortunately, a reliable network of pharmacies, including InkaFarma, Mi Farma, and Boticas BTL, is available for any necessary medications.
